Gardens of Marrakech you can't miss

Marrakech is a vibrant and colourful city full of surprises at every turn. Amid its bustling souk, the medina, and its historic monuments, it also hides peaceful spaces where nature, art, and architecture blend to create unique experiences. Gardens and courtyards are an essential part of its charm, and among them stand out the Majorelle Garden, the Menara Gardens, and the gardens of El Badi Palace.

Majorelle Garden: art and colour in the Red City
The Majorelle Garden is one of Marrakech’s most visited landmarks. Designed by French painter Jacques Majorelle and later restored by Yves Saint Laurent, this garden combines exotic plant species with pathways, ponds, and the striking, unmistakable Majorelle blue. It is a natural and artistic oasis that connects creativity and nature in the very heart of the city.

Menara Gardens: reflections and serenity
Created in the 12th century, the Menara Gardens offer a classic example of Islamic landscape tradition. Their large central reservoir, surrounded by olive trees, reflects the silhouette of the Atlas Mountains on clear days, creating one of Marrakech’s most iconic views. It is the perfect place for a peaceful walk and to experience the serenity still preserved in this historic space.

Gardens of El Badi Palace: history among ruins
Although today the El Badi Palace survives as a complex of ruins, it remains a place steeped in history. Its inner gardens, designed in the 16th century, evoke the splendour of the Saadian dynasty. Walking among orange trees, ponds, and architectural remains allows visitors to imagine the grandeur of the past while enjoying a cultural experience in a unique setting.

Marrakech between nature and culture
The gardens of Marrakech reflect the essence of the city: a balance between vibrancy and calm, between energy and serenity. The Majorelle Garden, the Menara Gardens, and the gardens of El Badi Palace show that beyond its walls and markets, the Red City is home to true oases of beauty and tranquillity.
